Gregory Shalov
Hi, I'm Gregory Shalov. Welcome to my profile!
Gregory Shalov's Bio:
Gregory Shalov is first and foremost a husband and a father. He has 4 children including a set of twins that he hopes will eventually play middle linebacker for the Jets and be known as the “Shalov Duo”. He has worked for investment banks, private equity groups and many different startups. While his family might be his proudest achievement, from a work standpoint helping companies grow from very little is a passion. Gregory has worked in sales, operations and finance positions. Gregory grew up in NYC and went to Dalton from pre-school until graduating high school, called a "Survivor". He then went on to attend Oberlin College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa while also winning several awards for his work in economics and history. Gregory still enjoys reading about historical events and people and continues to educate himself in the field. After graduating Gregory married his high school sweetheart Danielle at Wave Hill in NY. He also began his career after graduating at Warburg Dillon Read in the Food and Consumer Group under Blair Effron. He worked on the sale of Weight Watchers to the Invus Group, Nabisco’s purchase of Favorite Brands, the sale of Nabisco to Kraft and other projects. After two years in investment banking Gregory went on to work at Hampshire Equity Partners where he become an associate. His main focus while there was working with a company called Connector Services Corporations. He began at Hampshire when they were first looking at the deal. He helped complete all the diligence on the deal, negotiate bank loans and the legal documents. He then went on the help run the Company during the huge downturn in technology spending through 2004. In 2004 Gregory and his partner began their own firm, FLCP which was originally meant to invest in small businesses and help them grow into larger companies. As time went on this idea morphed into investing into people with ideas. They invested into two companies this way, Revolabs and Rethink Autism. At both companies Gregory took active roles in their sales organizations and became apart of senior management, working closely with the founders to build the businesses. After 8 years Revolabs had grown to over $20mm in annual revenue and was sold to Yamaha Corp. Rethink Autism, now called Rethink First, was funded with a $10mm VC round and continues to grow. After these investments Gregory and his partner worked on helping Nourish Snacks get off the ground and founded a SEO company called JumpHawk. Both companies have now achieved stability and Gregory is moving on to his next big project.
